What is an ARW file?
ARW is the RAW format Sony cameras produce — the untouched sensor data from every shot. It keeps maximum detail for editing, but it's large and most apps, websites and phones can't open it. Converting ARW to JPG gives you a small, universal image that shares anywhere, while your original RAW file stays safe on your computer.
Why convert ARW to JPG locally?
Most online converters ask you to upload your photos to a server first. RAW files are big — often 25–50 MB each — so that means long waits and a copy of every photo sitting on someone else's machine. This converter does the work inside your browser instead: there's no upload, no queue and no privacy trade-off, and it works offline once the page has loaded.
Other camera formats we support
The same private, in-browser conversion also handles Canon (.cr2, .cr3), Nikon (.nef), Adobe (.dng), Fujifilm (.raf), Olympus (.orf) and Panasonic (.rw2) RAW files. For those, plus documents, spreadsheets and video, head to the full file converter.
